this little guy kept all of us up friday night and made an early morning debut on saturday! and then was promptly smothered with love and kisses as soon as aunt christin could get to him on saturday afternoon.  congratulations on your new family mr. and mrs. malora! parker has stolen our hearts.

weekend wonders | wedding edition

dan and alyssa got hitched this weekend and it was wonderful! such an amazing time to spend with family, laughing, eating, laughing, dancing, celebrating! congrats to the two love birds, may you be best of friends for life xoxoxo

- pizza and salad from BAR was the perfect way to end the wedding day

- slow sunday morning breakfast with the fam: coffee, mini quiches and five kinds of hot sauce. duh.

this weekend post is really just a post about saturday. libby totally rocked out and won her division at the on the rocks race at french creek (she was also the first woman to cross the finish line in general, but refuses to make a big deal of it - if i ever cross the finish line at a mountain biking race i will make it the biggest deal EVER. just saying). we had a super fun day hanging out with the JB///Stoudt's team and cheering them on. still learning the ropes of a bike race, but i'm into it!

and then, to an eagerly awaited saturday night soiree!

what an incredible evening put on by the other farm brewing company. we enjoyed front row seats during an intimate evening of beer, cheese and dynamic duets pairings. everything was spot on and i can not wait until there is another match point event to enjoy! nice works dudes.

29th  birthday style.

a brief note about gratitude for my birthday: wow. what a whirlwind of love, laughter and light. my deepest thanks to everyone who helped me usher in 29 with a big bang. to have all the people i love, surround me, in the same place and the same time, has overwhelmed me with gratitude and thankfulness. this life of mine is blessed with so many amazing human beings, and we all got to celebrate together and that was pretty much the best. i look forward to carrying the light of this weekend with me throughout the year as i shine bright like a diamond (sorry, i had to). there are literally no pictures from my party, but i don't think it's possible to capture something like that. all those important people from every aspect and stage of your life, communing in the same place, it's a really special thing and it makes me understand the depth of love my friends and family have for me. mine for them is infinite. as added extra awesomeness we got to stand on my porch and watch headlamps dot mt. penn like firefly's as more friends competed in the dark and dirty and then enjoyed the fireworks from the fightin' phils game. surreal.

so here's to 29, i'm gonna be iron like a lion in zion.

- picked up that pretty lady at the airport (best birthday gift EVER) and headed straight to vedge and scored a table for two for one of the best meals of my life. new favorite restaurant. 

- spontaneous trip to rehoboth to bask in the sunshine and see the ocean. 

- rocking my iron lion zion necklace from sorrelli with my susan golembiski designs party frock; birthday girl party outfit success!

it was a beautiful weekend and i ran my ass off. it was wonderful. i did manage to catch some of sunday on the iphone though...spent a few hours with the linder's: donuts, babies and sunshine. ended the evening with a visit to the young men's democratic club on 11th street...yes, it was awesome.

holy smokes (as glen would say) what a weekend. it was packed full of the good stuff and i left feeling thankful and full. hope you had a ball in the fine, fine weather doing what you love! here's a peep at what i had time to document. 

- caught sunset friday night during my run at nolde. visited my alama mater to chat about bloom where you are - so fun! hit the trail with my old school dudes.

- apres trail run tacos from el puente (appetizer) followed by homemade popovers and coffee in the sunshine; heaven. and lots of live music from the young brothers of course.

- got my butt on both bikes this weekend too - hallelujah!

i only titled the post weekend wonders, because it's monday and that's what i title blog posts on monday. but i have absolutely nothing to show you! i refuse to give my iphone the satisfaction of taking pictures when another weekend is spent laying low with a cold. enough is enough. so, i was sick, and there is snow today, and if spring doesn't get it's ass here soon i think i seriously might wither up and die. could i be more pale? i don't think i have ever been this pale? and my pants are tight from lack of motivation...seriously winter? i am so. over. you. we had fun! i showed you a good time - lots of skiing and time outdoors, snapping shots of the snow and sipping lots of bourbon in front of the fire. but enough is enough.

so instead, i found this, and i want to share. ahhh so that's the difference; dating girls vs. women? i get it now. and you know what, i dig being a woman. and laughing? well, there's probably nothing better in my book.

happy monday lovers, hang in there with me - laughter is the best medicine.

i don't have one word to describe this weekend, just that it was exactly what i needed. each day packed full of things and people i love, countless hours outside, early bed times, amazing food and gratefulness. grateful that it fulfilled me and grateful that i have created a life (and a person) that i love and will fight fiercely for. 

- 50 degrees and footloose friday after work for some trial time, followed by pizza, bourbon and the decendents with the bestie and her hubs. 

- spent saturday shopping, donuting, photoshooting, hanging, drinking, laughing, face-masking, editing and overall hustling with the lovely melanie linder. what. a. blast. oh, and lu got her very first designer duds from heidi merrick :) AND she held her bottle with two hands, boom.

- snow meant white trails on sunday, times two. green carnations for dad on st. patrick's and a "clubhouse" hang out after our afternoon trail romp on mt. penn, complete with irish soda bread.

whew. what a weekend. this weather was  a m a z i n g  and just what the doctor ordered. i was outside for as many hours as possible soaking it all in and trying new things, starting to feel like my old self again (or maybe that's the twelve miles talking). but there were quiet moments too, like crawling into bed early on friday night and spontaneously enjoying a visit and homemade kahlua cup of joe with my bestie on sunday, that were the perfect slow compliment to my over the top outdoorsy weekend. bless up.

- friday night bake session for saturday's junk in the trunk fat-ass.

- lvrg roller derby days with the pacers - those girls are fierce and totally inspiring!

- gorgeous reservoir at rustic i never knew existed.

- dudes being dudes at the roller derby; cheap beers and venison steaks in the parking lot.
yes, my friends are rad.

- I WENT MOUNTAIN BIKING AND IT WAS AMAZING.
in case you can't tell, i'm SUPER excited and super proud. 

- delicious home cooked dinner with the girls over at robin's and her totally cool cat zander checking out the birthday flowers.

finally, some eye candy for you this monday morning.

- homemade tomato soup (check back thursday for the delicious details) and an open house  - what an amazing farmhouse and barn, formerly the post office and general store of spangs ville. and then beers at union jacks of course.

- phoebe's glam and glittery oscar party. she certainly spoiled her guests with an amazing spread and really rolled out the red carpet. stay tuned for more from the bloom style ocsar party!

i'm a little light on the pics from this weekend, but don't worry, it was good one! lots of time outside freezing running and lots of time inside with friends eating laughing.

- oh hello, jalapeno sausage pizza for sunday brunch at say cheese! i can't get enough of you.

- seriously, peel the chickpeas. it might be the most annoying task EVER, but your hummus has never been smoother. promise. smitten kitchen was totally right.

spent a wonderfully wintry weekend at the bay.  snow, wool socks, blazing fires, fresh coffee, delicious dinners with friends...ah, yes. i wish every day was a bay day.

-saturday city escape to philadelphia for cheesesteaks (pat's this time) and the car show.

-back to the bay in time for sunset, the best part of red point living.

omg. do you miss me yet? i got stuck with the flu and holy crap! it has taken it all out of me. i rallied all my energy to give you a glimpse of the totally excellent weekend that flew by before the flu came to hang out.

we had a really excellent and extremely cold saturday run at hamburg - my first ice run ever!

bob invited us over to kiss christmas goodbye and also to judge a blueberry cupcake competition - yummo!

saturday afternoon spent on penn ave with the bestie (and i need to make myself a doormat like this immediately)

wine and cheese party at rod's meant getting a fresh box of dead tapes to zone out to!

okay, so no, i did not actually see mila kunis eating pizza. (although that would pretty much make my life.) this simply represents my entire weekend of me eating pizza. pizza i made, pizza that was ordered, pizza that was made by others..it all started thursday night and i wish it would never end!

so that was my weekend, pizza (and blue skies).
