..we all scream for Ikat! But where to find it? (especially at a reasonable price!?) Ah, the question I have struggled with for months while outfitting my new apartment. And then, lo and behold, I discovered this: I know what you're thinking - that's not Ikat! You are correct my saavy fabric friend, it's dutch wax aka Batik. But Dutch and Afrain Wax Prints, Ikat and Indigos can all be found at Fabricadabra! (And you'll get quite the education on these diverse fabrics by browsing the site.)A lovely online store that sell exactly what you and I have been searching the globe for (at reasonable prices!). So, show them some love and enjoy their selection of fabulous fabrics. One other thing I love - I sent them a note telling them they are exactly what I was looking for and they wrote back -Ikat believe it!

Crazy Cat Lady
It's no secret I'm not fond of cats. In my life, I have only ever met two that I have enjoyed, and one of them is no longer with us...which just leaves Ziggy:
That being said, there is one other cool cat I like a lot and her name is Emily Caretti. She is the ever fabulous proprietress of Tea Street Vintage. With all the wonderful wares she sells, and her serious personal style, I am thrilled to announce she is now producing a daily "What I Wore" on her facebook page. And today she has single-handily made me like cats:
Now, it's no accident that Tea Street Vintage is located above the happy handmade home of Hello, Bluebird - where if you are so inclined you, can purchase the kitty necklace above. Together these two boutiques (and lovely lady owners) are just one more reason I am happy to call Reading my home (even if someday I do become a Crazy Cat Lady).

Naturally..
I love when one things leads to another...
For example, I saw this on designtherapy.com (props to HANDCRAFTED MODERN-At Home with Mid-Century Designers by Leslie Williamson for Rizzoli New York, 2010):
Which in turn lead me to remember how much I am dying to visit Fallingwater (http://www.fallingwater.org/):
So then I realized that a road trip to Ohio might not be as unbearable as I once thought as long as it includes the brunch tour option at Fallingwater https://tickets.fallingwater.org/default.asp on the way!
I'll be honest, we drove through Ohio in the dark...maybe it deserves a second chance?
